Susanne Nicholson has been a professional hair stylist and colour technician for over twenty years. Whilst starting her career in Brisbane, Susanne has trained with some of London’s top stylists and colour technicians, names like Nicky Clarke (fashion magazine and session stylist) and Patrick Cameron (international hair up specialist, and long hair designer).

Susanne is also trained and specializing in Racoon hair extensions and is a Napoleon Perdis Acadamy trained makeup artist. In addition to her training, Susanne worked in London’s West End, and managed one of the Head Masters chains of salons in Fulham. Under her influence, Head Masters Fulham won the L’Oreal Colour Trophy for London in 1998 and went on to win the London Hair Salon of the Year 1998.

 

Susanne returned to Australia in late 1998, whilst working and training at Oscar Oscar concept salon in Brisbane City, Susanne was a part of the team responsible for the establishment of Oscar Oscar concept salon Carindale. Susanne went on to manage and work in some of the finest salons of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs including those in the exclusive enclave of Double Bay.

With careful application of her knowledge and

experience, Susanne established an extensive following of clients amongst Sydney’s ‘dress circle’.

After nearly a decade in Sydney, Susanne returned to Queensland in mid 2007, and is currently situated in a charming boutique salon in Brisbane’s beautiful bay side.

Experienced in advertising, events, television, music, fashion, pictorials and parades including Sydney Fashion Week. Her bridal work has appeared in leading magazines Modern Wedding, Perfect Brides & Weddings and Real Weddings. She was also one of the stylists that worked on the celebrity performers of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games closing ceremony

Every bride has something special in mind for her wedding. In preparing for your big day, I will take the time to talk with you, to help plan the look you want, and most importantly the look that will best suit you. I will do this by taking into account your skin complexion, hair type and any other special personal elements of your wedding day.

Planning that perfect combination of hair and make up starts with a trial session, usually done at my private studio. Feel free to bring along any magazine photographs or other pictures of the look that you want and members of your bridal party are also welcome to attend the trial.

I only use products of the highest quality; though I am not loyal to any one brand.  I will use a combination of products and techniques that will give the best results. To create a clean, fresh and glamorous look.  A style which is classical yet contemporary, with an individual edge tailored to suit your facial shape and enhance your looks.

As a fully qualified hair stylist, technician and make up artist, with over 20 years experience in the industry, I am trained and certified in Napoleon Perdis Fashion, Glamour & Bridal Make-up artistry.

I also offer airbrush makeup on my list of services; a must have for that flawless finish to your ‘paparazzi ready’ makeup.

During the trial, I can advise you on colour, wedding day preparations for treatments and styles, make-up and beauty preparations. I also specialise in hair extensions, being fully trained and certified in Raccoon No. 1 Hair Extensions. A high quality hair extension, using premium hair and bonding that is 100% natural.

The extensions can be ordered in all grades and colours to suit every individual requirement. If you need any extra length or thickness added to your hair for the big occasion, this is the most effective and natural way of doing so; and it also lasts for up to three months! It’s important to note that extensions are best applied a couple of weeks before the date of the wedding. This allows you time to adjust to the extensions, and make changes if necessary.

So they feel natural and comfortable for your special day!

Make a Booking

I am constantly receiving bookings, though some dates can still be booked for up to eighteen months in advance.

To secure a booking, a deposit is required. This will ensure my services for the desired date...

If you are getting married in peak season, a booking should be secured as soon as possible or the date may become unavailable.

The Wedding Trial

I recommend you have your trial done when you’re going somewhere special, so you can show off your gorgeous hair and make-up!

The wedding trials take place in the stylish and relaxed atmosphere of the salon or in my studio.

At the trial we can also discuss any thing you may need for the day. We can put together an order for you to purchase any touch-up products, lipsticks, foundations and any other products you may require.

We can also discuss any questions or ideas you may have for your bridesmaids, family and friends that may require hair or make up services for the day.

Travel

On your wedding day, I am able to travel to your venue. Pricing is dependent on the distance travelled and starts from $25 for inner city and surrounding CBD areas.

Susanne and her team are available to look after commercial clients or Bride's either on location or at the Bride's home, hotel suites or in her private Studio.
